If a Christmas party replaces dinner, serve one hearty centerpiece, 2–3 filling finger foods, something fresh, bread or starch, and a simple dessert. Favor dishes that can be made ahead, held safely, or served in batches.

Chill every punch ingredient first, make the still base ahead, and add sparkling ingredients shortly before serving. Put out a smaller batch, keep backup base and bubbles cold, and refill instead of exposing the full volume.
