Plan an at-home adult birthday around arrivals, food, one anchor moment, dessert, and a protected final 15 minutes. Fill in the top fields for “Party start”, “Guest count”, “Anchor moment”, and “Cake / dessert time”, then use the 2-page timeline to work through the “Day Before”, “90–45 Min”, “15 Min”, and “During” blocks in order. Keep it beside the day-of plan so a delayed task can be moved, delegated, or dropped without rewriting the entire event.
Anchor the fixed times first
Fill in “Party start”, “Guest count”, “Anchor moment”, and “Cake / dessert time” before you assign tasks. Those anchors make it obvious which jobs can move and which ones cannot.
Move from Day Before to 90–45 Min
The “Day Before” block covers “Prep stable food”, “Chill drinks”, and “Set serving gear”. Then use “90–45 Min” for “Finish hot food by recipe”, “Open drink station”, and “Set first food wave”. Keep recipe-specific times and temperatures unchanged even if the written schedule slips.
Use During as the final control block
Before the event moves into its next phase, scan “Introduce across friend groups”, “Refill once by plan”, and “Run anchor only if room wants it”. Cross out optional work that no longer fits instead of creating a second last-minute plan.
